Grade 10 Legacy: Building Memories, One Box at a Time

BSS

Our school's tradition of leaving a lasting mark continues, and this year's Grade 10 class has truly outdone themselves! Forget textbooks and exams for a moment – these students traded their pens for saws and sandpaper, embarking on a hands-on project that will benefit our school for years to come.

In the weeks following their board exams, the mornings were filled with the buzzing of tools and the cheerful chatter of students. Under the expert guidance of their teacher, the Grade 10 class took on the challenge of crafting sturdy wooden boxes, perfect for theatre productions, school events, or any activity that requires a bit of organized storage.

Each group received five square pieces of wood, transforming them into functional boxes. The fifth piece, carefully measured, became a secure lid, while sturdy handles were added for easy transport. The process wasn't just about construction; it was a journey of rediscovering the practical applications of tools and learning to handle more advanced equipment – all with their teacher's patient and insightful guidance.

But the real magic happened during the sanding and painting stages! The students, known for their exceptional bond with their teacher and their infectious enthusiasm, turned the workshop into a vibrant hub of creativity. Laughter filled the air as they meticulously sanded their boxes to a smooth finish, ready for a splash of color.

The painting session was a burst of artistic expression. Each box became a canvas, reflecting the unique personalities and teamwork of the groups. The results were stunning – a collection of beautifully crafted and painted boxes, ready to serve our school community.
